I am not in the least bit prepared for Christmas this year. I do not lie. Panic set in on Monday and I am beginning to make progress but it’s not good. What was good however was a wee festive get-together that I had last week, aided and abetted by Lovely Things, a beautiful shop in Dundee that I have blogged about previously! You can book shopping nights, either in the shop or at home, and buyers get a 10% discount. Combine this with food, drink and chat and you have a pretty perfect way to spend a mid-week evening, as far as I am concerned!
It’s very easy to organise as Lynne, the manager, arrives with bagfuls of treats and then sets up on the dining table. If you host a party, you get a £25 voucher to spend in the shop in addition to the 10% off, perfect savings for this time of year. There was loads of gorgeous things to buy and I think most of my friends got the Christmas shopping done in one night!
From my point of view it was a perfect way to catch up with a host of very busy people.
To make life even easier, Markies was raided for their latest finger food treats; the choux buns with the chocolate and stars on them were heavenly! Plenty of fizz and mulled cranberry juice were consumed and everyone left with a rosy glow on their faces and bags of treats in their hands! This is the best way to shop!
