Summer Holiday 2014 – Oxford

I’ve just got back from a lovely two weeks away. The first week was spent in and around Oxford catching up with my lovely niece, with a little soujourn in London to see Martin Freeman in Richard III, which was fantastic. Stratford-upon-Avon was the base for the second week with two further plays and lots of sightseeing in between. The holiday had just the right balance however of sightseeing, food, drink, socialising and space to think and breathe…which is what I’ve been needing. Recently, in the last couple of months, life has gone from busy to just manic and I was clinging on by the skin of my teeth. I’ve realised now that there are certain things that I have to prioritise and others which will have to be put on hold if I am in any way going to cling on to my sanity. This means that however much I enjoy writing this blog I can’t keep it up in the same way that I have in previous years. I thought I would stop it all together however I really enjoy sharing photos from experiences that I am having so I think the blog is going to morph into a visual photo-story of the coming months punctuated by the odd word or two rather than a place for all the creating and making that I have been doing up till now. Hopefully it will still be a place that you will want to visit and even draw creative inspiration from!

Anyway, here are some photos from the first week of the holiday. I would say the theme of the two weeks, aside from Shakespeare, was ‘Awfae Bonnie Gardens’ so here are some pics taken in Oxford at the Botanics. Thank you for reading!
