Sun, sea, sand and… snow!

Snowybeach (2)Sunday was a beautiful day for a walk. There had been a sprinkling of snow overnight, the temperature was cold but the sun was out and the wind was low. Perfect conditions for a photograph.

Snowybeach (1) Snowybeach (3) Snowybeach (4) Snowybeach (5) Snowybeach (6) Snowybeach (9)The rest of the day was pretty lovely too. I helped out at a cooking competition for children. They had to cook a three course dinner for two on a budget of £15; the results were outstanding, particularly a venison meatball wrapped in bacon and served with braised red cabbage and potato dauphinoise! I want the recipe! I also went to the cinema and saw ‘The Theory of Everything’; Eddie Redmayne was amazing though the film was a little slow.

Anyway we seem to be whizzing through January already but I’m quite happy with that. There is evidence of daylight in the sky come 5pm so the days are definitely getting longer. Hurrah!
