It’s summer holiday time! I’m going be offline for the next couple of weeks recharging my batteries. In the meantime I thought I’d leave you with a detail from the great Scotland Tapestry which is currently touring it’s way around Scotland (I saw it in Kirkcaldy Museum a couple of weeks past and I think it’s there for the summer). A collaborative effort by embroidery groups across the country, the scale of the Tapestry is extremely impressive and it will take a couple of hours to work round the panels. Although I personally had some issues with the content (in that you can tell it’s been designed by people who live in the central belt so not wholly inclusive of the depth and breadth of Scotland’s history and culture) the detail and workmanship demonstrates a high level of skill hence the photo.
Anyway, I hope you are having a lovely summer and I’ll be back online come August!
