Sunday Snowdrops

It’s that funny time of year up here when the lengthening of days show the promise of spring but the temperatures remain stubbornly cold. I follow a number of fashion bloggers across the UK and they’re making me laugh with their current ‘no sock\tights’ chat; there is no chance of that in North East Scotland at the moment. Actually you do see some people braving it but they look cold. Anyway, this weekend was one of those weekends where the weather was not quite playing ball. Despite this, on Sunday I headed over to Cambo Estate to see the snowdrop festival, blow away some cobwebs and spend time with the parentals.

Cambo is located just along the coast from St. Andrews with walks through the estate leading down to the coast. The grounds are not extensive but it’s an ideal Sunday stroll destination and I have always loved walking through the wooded glade to find it opening out onto the beach. There were lots of dancing snowdrops too and it was a lovely sight!

Snowdrop season is nearly over and bluebells are now on my radar as well as pink blossom. I missed the bluebells last year but I am determined this year to catch them at their best! Anybody know of a bluebell wood nearby?

  1. Went for a visit yesterday, unfortunately the snowdrops are past their best, but still a stunning walk and it’s lovely going past the woodland stream to the sea!!
Absolutely loved the little pigs as well – gorgeous!
